Today it's mostly an industrial town: it holds a vast zone of refineries and petrochemicals (Yanbu Industrial City) that drives a chunk of Saudi Arabia's economy. But for a visitor what matters is its other side: warm water and well-preserved coral reefs that have made it a known spot for diving in the Red Sea.
