Formed as a cluster of neighborhoods in the 1980s, it's one of the state's most diverse communities, with a strong Latino and Pacific Islander presence. The Wasatch Mountains rise behind it, snow-capped half the year. It's no tourist postcard but a practical high-valley city (around 4,300 ft), with dry mountain climate and direct access to Salt Lake.
