Along the boulevard are the Walk of Fame stars, the TCL Chinese Theatre with its handprints, and the Dolby Theatre where the Oscars are handed out. Above, in the Hollywood Hills, the famous white sign presides over the city, with Griffith Observatory as the best viewpoint. The street-level reality is touristy and a bit worn, but the myth and the Mediterranean climate make it a must on any LA trip.
