It's Silicon Valley proper: home to Tesla's enormous factory, successor to the old NUMMI plant run by GM and Toyota. It was formed in 1956 by joining five historic towns, so it has no single center but several districts with their own character. It's known for its large Afghan community —the area called "Little Kabul"— and its history as a cradle of silent film in the Niles district.
