Its signature is the Gratte-Ciel, a cluster of 1930s Art Deco towers built by mayor Lazare Goujon as dignified social housing for workers, anchored by the town hall and the TNP (Théâtre National Populaire). It's a young, student, working-class and multicultural place (the INSA engineering campus is here), cheaper and less picture-postcard than central Lyon.
