Pohang es la ciudad del acero de Corea del Sur, en la costa este de la provincia de Gyeongsang del Norte, asomada al mar del Este (mar de Japón). Su plato insignia es el gwamegi, arenque o paparda oreados al frío del invierno.Pohang is South Korea's steel city, on the east coast of North Gyeongsang province, facing the East Sea (Sea of Japan). Life here revolves around POSCO, one of the world's largest steelmakers, and that mix of industrial port and open coastline gives it a character all its own, quite unlike Seoul. It's famous for its sunrises: Homigot cape, at the eastern tip of the peninsula, is one of the first spots the sun reaches in the country. Its signature dish is gwamegi, herring or saury cured in the winter cold.
