Nazilli

Nazilli es una ciudad del interior egeo de Turquía, en la provincia de Aydın, tendida en el fértil valle del río Büyük Menderes (el antiguo Meandro). Es tierra de algodón y de higos: el valle es una de las grandes zonas agrícolas del oeste turco, y Nazilli tiene un lugar en la historia industrial del país por la Fábrica de Estampados Sümerbank, la primera gran fábrica textil de la República, inaugurada en los años treinta como símbolo de la industrialización. Es una ciudad de trabajo, mercado y campo más que de turismo.Nazilli is a city in Turkey's Aegean interior, in Aydın province, spread across the fertile valley of the Büyük Menderes river (the ancient Maeander). It's cotton and fig country: the valley is one of western Turkey's great farming zones, and Nazilli holds a place in the country's industrial history through the Sümerbank Print Factory, the young Republic's first big textile mill, opened in the 1930s as a symbol of industrialisation. It's a city of work, markets and fields rather than tourism.
