It's a city of water: it's ringed by lakes formed by dams on the North Han river, such as Uiam and Soyang, giving it a relaxed getaway feel. Koreans link it to two dishes: dak-galbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles). It's a classic weekend escape from Seoul to breathe mountain and lake air.
