It's a residential and weekend area for Istanbulites, with a seafront promenade, beaches and a more relaxed feel than the city's crowded center. Its historic jewel is the stone bridge by Mimar Sinan, the great Ottoman architect, over the lagoon's neck. A calm, affordable base from which to reach the heart of Istanbul.
