In China it's known as the 'city of hot springs': the ground beneath the Wenquan district (literally 'hot spring') runs hot and has made it a bathing-and-relaxation getaway for people from Wuhan. It's also osmanthus (guihua) country, the fragrant flower whose scent fills the city in autumn. And under its jurisdiction lies Chibi, the legendary site of the Battle of Red Cliffs.
