It's dominated by the Ulmer Münster, whose 161.5-metre spire is the tallest church steeple in the world — you can climb its dizzying staircase. It's the birthplace of Albert Einstein, and at its foot, by the river, spreads the Fischerviertel, the picturesque fishermen's quarter of half-timbered houses and canals.
