Tarnów es una ciudad de la Pequeña Polonia (Małopolska), al este de Cracovia, con un casco antiguo renacentista bien conservado en torno a su plaza del mercado y su ayuntamiento. It had a large Jewish community before the war, whose traces remain, and it is the birthplace of General Józef Bem, a Polish and Hungarian hero. A quiet, provincial city with fine heritage, an easy day trip from Kraków.
