San Cristóbal es la capital del estado Táchira, en los Andes venezolanos, cerca de la frontera con Colombia. Es una ciudad de montaña de clima templado y primaveral casi todo el año gracias a su altitud, muy distinta del calor del llano venezolano. Por su posición fronteriza —a un paso de San Antonio del Táchira y del cruce a Cúcuta— ha sido siempre un punto de intercambio con Colombia. Su cita más conocida es la Feria de San Sebastián, en enero, con corridas, música, deporte y ferias que llenan la ciudad.San Cristóbal is the capital of Táchira state, in the Venezuelan Andes, near the Colombian border. It's a mountain city with a mild, spring-like climate almost year-round thanks to its altitude, quite unlike the heat of the Venezuelan lowlands. Because of its border position —just steps from San Antonio del Táchira and the crossing to Cúcuta— it has always been a point of exchange with Colombia. Its best-known event is the Feria de San Sebastián, in January, with bullfights, music, sport and fairs that fill the city.
