Radom is a southern Mazovia city with a manufacturing past, a small medieval core and 19th- and 20th-century industrial architecture. It is not a Warsaw suburb and has its own regional identity. For orientation through real references, distinguish Miasto Kazimierzowskie from Śródmieście; Museo Jacek Malczewski and Mazowieckie Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej Elektrownia are the verifiable anchors included here. This guide explicitly separates regional excursions from places inside the urban core.

¿Cuánto necesitas al mes en Radom? How much do you need per month in Radom?

Radom isn't a nomad base: it's an industrial city of just under 200,000 in central Poland, with a reputation inside the country as a place past its prime and nothing resembling a remote-work scene. What it does have is some of the cheapest rent in Poland, excellent fibre, and a train to Warsaw in around an hour and a half — so it works if your plan is to live cheap near the capital and go in when you need to. If you want community, cafés to work from, English on the street, or a mild winter, this isn't your city.

This is Radom's strongest card. Fibre from several providers covers nearly the whole city, and 300–600 Mbps runs about US$18–24 a month; in the big housing blocks a gigabit line is no drama either. One caveat: most plans are asymmetric, with upload well below download — if you push heavy files, read the fine print before signing. It's genuinely stable: no scheduled blackouts, no routine outages, and video calls hold up. Mobile 4G/5G is solid across town and data-heavy plans are cheap. If connectivity is your only hard requirement, Poland in general and Radom with it deliver easily.

CoworkingCoworking

Be honest here: there is no coworking scene. Radom is a factory town of people with their own offices, not a laptop town. There's a business incubator / tech park tied to the city and the university, and a couple of business centres rent out offices, but that's a leased room with a contract, not a monthly hot desk you can just show up to — call ahead before counting on it. The realistic setup: you work from home, and if you truly need a coworking space you take one in Warsaw (hot-desk memberships from roughly US$130–230, i.e. 500–850 PLN) and go in a day or two a week. Cafés downtown are fine for a couple of hours, not a full day: few outlets, and camping out at a table isn't the local habit.

Ustronie and Gołębiów — the big 1970s–80s block estates, the cheapest rent in the city, well served by buses, ugly but functional with a supermarket on every corner. Borki — next to the reservoir of the same name, greener and quieter, good if you run or want air. Idalin and Wośniki — single-family-house areas, pricier and quiet, built around driving. The foreign population here is mostly Ukrainian, with some Belarusians and the university's international students, and it doesn't cluster in one neighbourhood: it spreads wherever rent is cheap, meaning Ustronie and Gołębiów.

ComunidadCommunity

Low, and you should know it before you land. There is no nomad community here: no remote-work meetups, no local Slack, none of the event circuit you'd find in Kraków, Wrocław or Warsaw. The Spanish-speaking community is practically non-existent — you can go months without hearing Spanish. Daily life runs in Polish: young people and the university crowd speak English, but at the bakery, with the building manager or at the city office, plan on Polish or a translation app. Ukrainian and Russian, on the other hand, are widely heard and genuinely useful. If international social life matters to you, the answer isn't Radom, it's the train: Warsaw is ninety minutes away and has meetups, a Latin community and events most weeks.

Three friend-to-friend warnings. One: winter. From November to February it's dark soon after 3:30pm, temperatures sit between -5 and 5 °C, and the air in mid-sized Polish cities gets bad from coal heating — winter smog in Radom is real, check the index before going for a run and consider an air purifier. Two: paperwork. If you're not from the EU, your residence permit goes through the Mazovian voivodeship administration, which is notorious for months-long delays and impossible appointment slots; there's a branch office in Radom, but assume trips to Warsaw and start the process the week you arrive, never near your deadline. Three: housing. Almost every lease wants a kaucja (deposit) of one or two months up front, most listings are Polish-only on local portals, and the advertised price usually does NOT include the building czynsz or heating — always ask "czynsz w cenie?" before comparing. One extra: Radom's airport opened as a Warsaw alternative but runs very few routes and its future is debated — don't plan flights around it, count on Chopin or Modlin. And yes, Radom is broadly safe, but a few block estates and the area around the station are worth skipping late at night.

Figures in US dollars and approximate, reviewed in September 2026, for one person. Rents move fast in nomad-heavy cities — use these to compare and budget, not as a quote.
