Minoh (Minoo) is a wooded suburb north of Osaka, famous for its waterfall and maples. From Hankyu Minoo station, a trail of about three kilometres climbs a forested valley to the 33-metre Minoh Falls, inside a quasi-national park. In autumn the valley turns red and momiji tempura is sold: maple leaves battered and fried, the local treat. Wild Japanese macaques roam the forest.
