It's one of the island's major ports and one of Taiwan's rainiest cities — nicknamed the 'Rainy City.' Its big draw is the Miaokou Night Market, among the country's most famous for street food gathered around a temple. Its port history left Spanish, Dutch and Japanese traces, and today it's a cruise gateway and a springboard to the northeast coast.
