Es una escapada tranquila y auténtica frente al bullicio de Ámsterdam.Dordrecht, or Dordt to the Dutch, is the oldest city in Holland: it received city rights in 1220 and for centuries was a key trading port, back when river commerce made it wealthy. It sits on an island in the south of South Holland province, ringed by branches of the Rhine and Meuse, and keeps a historic center of canals, merchant houses and warehouses that escaped modern demolition. Right next door is the Biesbosch, one of the few freshwater tidal deltas in Europe. It's a calm, genuine escape from Amsterdam's crowds.
