It's known for two very different things: mining — it's called one of China's capitals of nonferrous metals — and Dongjiang Lake, a reservoir famous for the morning mist that rises off the water while fishermen head out in boats at dawn. This is mountainous, green, humid interior China, off the international tourist trail.
