Castelló de la Plana es la capital de la provincia de Castellón, en la Comunidad Valenciana, sobre la llanura litoral de la Plana que da al Mediterráneo (la Costa del Azahar). Es una ciudad de tamaño medio, tranquila y muy valenciana, rodeada de naranjos, con un casco histórico llano y fácil de andar y una franja de playa a pocos kilómetros, en el Grau. Vive de los cítricos, la cerámica de la comarca y la universidad Jaume I. Sus fiestas de la Magdalena, en marzo, celebran el traslado fundacional de la ciudad desde el cerro a la llanura.Castelló de la Plana is the capital of Castellón province, in the Valencian Community, on the coastal plain of la Plana facing the Mediterranean (the Costa del Azahar). It's a calm, very Valencian mid-sized city, ringed by orange groves, with a flat, walkable old town and a beach strip a few kilometers away at the Grau. It lives on citrus, the region's ceramics and Jaume I University. Its Magdalena festival, in March, celebrates the city's founding move from the hilltop down to the plain.
