Remote Worker Visa — KITAS E33G (Visa de Trabajador Remoto)
Es el permiso de estancia limitada (KITAS, índice E33G) que Indonesia lanzó en 2024 para gente que trabaja en remoto para empresas o clientes de fuera del país. Va dirigido a empleados y freelancers con ingresos altos que quieren vivir en Indonesia (Bali sobre todo) sin trabajar para el mercado local. No permite emplearte con una empresa indonesia.It's the limited-stay permit (KITAS, index E33G) that Indonesia launched in 2024 for people who work remotely for companies or clients based outside the country. It targets employees and freelancers with high income who want to live in Indonesia (mostly Bali) without working for the local market. It does not let you take a job with an Indonesian company.

El E33G no publica una lista de nacionalidades excluidas: en la práctica está abierto a casi cualquier pasaporte que cumpla los requisitos de ingreso, y la gran ventaja es que se tramita 100% en línea, sin pasar por el consulado indonesio de tu país. Eso iguala mucho el proceso entre latinoamericanos, estadounidenses y europeos: todos solicitan por el mismo portal, en inglés, y todos deben demostrar los ≈ USD 60.000/año y el saldo bancario. A diferencia de España o Portugal, Indonesia no suele exigir antecedentes penales apostillados ni traducción jurada para este visado, así que la apostilla de La Haya normalmente no es un cuello de botella (Indonesia sí es parte del Convenio de La Haya desde 2022, por si algún documento futuro lo requiriera). Si tu documentación viene en un idioma distinto del inglés, tradúcela al inglés antes de subirla. Punto importante y honesto: los criterios y montos pueden cambiar y a veces se aplican de forma desigual según el caso, así que confirma siempre en el portal oficial antes de pagar.The E33G doesn't publish a list of excluded nationalities: in practice it's open to almost any passport that meets the income requirements, and the big advantage is that it's handled 100% online, without going through the Indonesian consulate in your country. That levels the process a lot between Latin Americans, Americans and Europeans: everyone applies through the same portal, in English, and everyone has to prove the ≈ USD 60,000/year and the bank balance. Unlike Spain or Portugal, Indonesia usually doesn't require apostilled criminal records or sworn translations for this visa, so the Hague Apostille isn't normally a bottleneck (Indonesia has been a party to the Hague Convention since 2022, in case a future document needs it). If your documents come in a language other than English, translate them into English before uploading. An important, honest note: criteria and amounts can change and are sometimes applied unevenly case by case, so always confirm on the official portal before paying.

Elegible. Todo el trámite es en línea, sin cita en el consulado indonesio: aplicas por evisa.imigrasi.go.id desde donde estés. Si algún documento tuyo necesitara legalización, México firma la apostilla de La Haya, así que sería apostilla y no vía consular; aun así, para el E33G normalmente no se piden documentos apostillados.Eligible. The whole process is online, no appointment at the Indonesian consulate: you apply through evisa.imigrasi.go.id from wherever you are. If any of your documents needed legalization, Mexico is a member of the Hague Apostille, so it would be apostille rather than the consular route; even so, the E33G normally doesn't ask for apostilled documents.

La diferencia real: Cuba NO es parte del Convenio de Apostilla de La Haya, de modo que si en tu caso te exigieran legalizar algún documento oficial cubano, tocaría la vía consular (legalización), más lenta que una apostilla. Confírmalo en el portal, porque el E33G normalmente no pide documentos legalizados.The E33G is applied for online, so in principle a Cuban passport can apply like everyone else. The real difference: Cuba is NOT a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so if your case were asked to legalize an official Cuban document, you'd use the consular (legalization) route, slower than an apostille.
