It's the world capital of zebu cattle: the Brazilian breeders' association (ABCZ) is headquartered here and it hosts ExpoZebu, the largest zebu cattle fair on the planet. It also has two quirks that make it unique: it's one of Brazil's great dinosaur-fossil sites, in the Peirópolis district, and it was the home of the medium Chico Xavier, which turned it into a major spiritist pilgrimage center.
