Serrekunda

Serrekunda es el mayor conglomerado urbano de Gambia, el pequeño país que se extiende a ambos lados del río Gambia en el oeste de África. Está muy cerca de la costa atlántica y forma parte del área urbana que rodea a Banjul, la capital. Es una ciudad de mercados y vida comercial intensa, con el famoso mercado de Serrekunda como centro de actividad. A pocos kilómetros está la franja turística de la costa (la zona de Senegambia y Kololi), donde se concentran los hoteles de playa. El clima es tropical, con una estación seca marcada por el viento harmattan y una húmeda de lluvias entre junio y octubre.Serrekunda is the largest urban cluster in The Gambia, the small West African country that stretches along both banks of the Gambia River. It sits close to the Atlantic coast and is part of the urban area around Banjul, the capital. It's a city of markets and intense commercial life, with the famous Serrekunda market as its hub of activity. A few kilometers away lies the coastal tourist strip (the Senegambia and Kololi area), where the beach hotels concentrate. The climate is tropical, with a dry season marked by the harmattan wind and a rainy one between June and October.
