Paranaguá es una de las ciudades más antiguas de Brasil y el gran puerto del sur: por su bahía sale buena parte de la soja y el grano que Brasil exporta al mundo. Está en el litoral de Paraná, con clima cálido y húmedo y un centro histórico de casas coloniales frente al agua. Para el viajero, su mayor gancho es ser la puerta de entrada a la Ilha do Mel y el punto final del ferrocarril de la Serra do Mar, uno de los tramos de tren más bonitos del país.Paranaguá is one of Brazil's oldest cities and the great port of the south: much of the soy and grain Brazil ships to the world leaves through its bay. It sits on the Paraná coast, hot and humid, with a colonial historic center facing the water. For travelers its biggest draw is being the gateway to Ilha do Mel and the endpoint of the Serra do Mar railway, one of the most beautiful train rides in the country.
