Lages es la ciudad más grande de la Serra Catarinense, la sierra alta del interior de Santa Catarina, en el sur de Brasil. Ringed by highland grasslands and araucaria (Brazilian pine) forests, Lages is famous as the birthplace of rural tourism in Brazil: cattle ranches that host visitors with open-fire cooking, horseback rides and country food.
