Jundiaí

Jundiaí está en el interior del estado de São Paulo, a poco menos de una hora de la capital paulista, y vive del cruce entre industria y campo. La ciudad creció con la inmigración italiana y con el ferrocarril que la unía al puerto de Santos, y esa herencia sigue viva en su Ruta del Vino, en las colonias que producen uva y fresa, y en la Serra do Japi, una gran reserva de bosque atlántico que domina el paisaje al oeste. The city grew with Italian immigration and with the railway that linked it to the port of Santos, and that heritage survives in its Wine Route, in the colonies that grow grapes and strawberries, and in the Serra do Japi, a large Atlantic-forest reserve that shapes the landscape to the west. It isn't a classic tourist stop: it's a working city, green at the edges, and an easy quiet break near São Paulo.
